Kung Pao Chicken

This meal is excellent and resembles the kung pao chicken served in Chinese restaurants. It's easy to make, and you may experiment with the measurements however you wish. There's no room for error! As it gets lighter, the sauce thickens nicely.




Ingredients

  • A mixture of 2 tablespoons of water and 2 tablespoons of cornflour.2 equal tablespoons of white wine✅
  • 2 equal  tablespoons of soy sauce ✅
  • 2 equal tablespoons of sesame oil ✅
  • 1 pound of cut-up, skinless, boneless chicken breast halves ✅
  • spicy chile paste, 1 ounce ✅
  • Brown sugar, 2 tablespoons ✅
  • 1 teaspoon of white vinegar, distilled ✅
  • 8 ounces of water chestnuts in one can ✅
  • 4 ounces of peanuts, chopped ✅
  • 4 chopped green onions ✅
  • Garlic, chopped, 1 tablespoon ✅

Follow These Directions:

Step 1:

In a bowl, mix the water and cornflour; set aside.

Step 2:

In a sizable bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of wine, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon of the corn/water mixture. Chicken pieces should be added and fried. Place the dish in the fridge with a cover on for about 30 minutes.

Step 3:

In a medium bowl, mix the remaining 1 tablespoon of wine, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon of the cornstarch/water combination. Add and thoroughly combine the garlic, green onions, water chestnuts, and peanuts.

Step 4:

A medium pan should now contain the water-walnut mixture. Heat slowly over medium heat until fragrant.

Step 5:

Transfer the chicken from the coating onto a large pan and cook, frequently tossing, over medium-high heat until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and the juices run clear.

Step 6:

chicken and the water walnut combination should be combined in one pan. Boil the sauce until it thickens while constantly adjusting the heat.

Tips:

Use Shaoxing wine if you have any on hand. You can change out the water walnuts for bamboo shoots and the peanuts for cashews. Red and green bell peppers can be added in cube form if you want to color and taste.
